Heart Risk Evaluations
Cholesterol Evaluation (Lipid Profile Index)
This test has been programmed with results of the most recent and respected data, most notably that from the 50-plus years of research of the Framingham Heart Study. It makes an assessment by combining total cholesterol, hdl and triglyceride levels, based upon what has been learned from Framingham. An ldl level based on calculated results--this is the normal method for measuring ldl--is provided. A course of action is also recommended where indicated. For more information on cholesterol, hdl, ldl, triglycerides, ratios, and the meaning of each concerning heart risk, please see our free online booklet, Cholesterol and Heart Risk, available by clicking on the link below.
